We live in strange times do we not?
Over the last six months, the news has been dominated by an onslaught of depressing headlines.
Almost every week, stories about a scandal, a war, terrorism, a disease, a climate change, income inequality and a shaky economic recovery have dominated the airwaves.
What a world we live in.
But if you look at recent studies, we actually live in the most peaceful of times.
If we go back one, two or three hundred years ago and much further, previous generations would have be exposed to much more violence, poverty and destruction.
The difference is that we have 24/7 coverage of every single event from all over the globe.
This gives the appearance of a violent, messed up world that appears to be in self-destruct mode.
What you must realise is that news channels and newspapers focus on the negatives in the world because it provides the morbid reader or listener (you and I) a much needed service…
…and that service is the twisted desire to know all the grim and horrific incidents that occur every day all over the planet.
We are all addicted to it, like it or not.
And, it sells a tonne of newspapers, which is big money.
What about focusing on the positives that occur all the time in this amazing world we live in?
Here are a few you might like
** Nearly three hundreds babies are born every day.
** Someone somewhere is admiring an amazing sunrise.
** Thousands of people have said “I love you” this second to that special person.
** Hundreds of cute, elderly couples all over the world are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
** Two best friends are laughing so hard they aren’t even making any noise.
** A firefighter is running into a burning building and rescuing someone.
** A surgeon just saved someone’s life.
** As I typed this, the astronauts that traveled at 8km per second in a rocket have docked at the International Space station some two hundred and fifty miles above the Earth.
They are circling the planet at a paltry 15,000miles per hour!
…and many more wonderful sights, sounds and events that are happening as we speak.
It can be hard sometimes to stay positive in a seemingly negative world but what choice do we have?
My advice to you, for what it’s worth would be to focus on all the good things in life and try to avoid the negative where you can.
We get what expect in this life.
You see what you believe; you don’t believe what you see.
If you believe the world is a nasty, negative place then guess what will manifest in your life?
If you always try to find the positive wherever possible, you had better believe that your life and your world will be far more positive and productive.
The world is an amazing place with so much to offer, if we look for it.
What’s all this got to do with health and fitness I hear you say?
Well not much to be honest, I just felt like sharing this.
Have a great day and I will speak to you on Friday.
